Separate Ways; Southern Comfort #5

Sometimes good-bye is a second chance…
Thanksgiving’s harmony turns out to be just the lull before the storm, as relationships begin to fall apart, beginning with Violet and Dylan. The presence of Clay’s mother, Brandi Wine, in New Liberty, is quickly becoming a bone of contention between the four boys. Mark and Todd don’t think she’s so bad, while Clay and Blake want nothing to do with her or her cockamamie reality show.

A family crisis draws Todd and his mother to Atlanta, and when they return, the news isn’t good, and decisions must be made. Blake and Clay face their own crisis when big mouths callously reveal secrets not meant to be shared. Todd’s relationship with Taylor has grown, despite the revelation that she is transgendered. But her psyche is fragile, and unable to bear the weight of Todd’s censure when he decides to withdraw his support. The aftermath of his words will shatter everyone’s world.

Sometimes you have to agree to disagree, and go your separate ways.

2018! New marriage, books, and insights

Happy New Year all! It is the dawning of a brand new year...can you believe it's 2018??? Where has all the time gone?
The older I get, the faster it goes.

So, with the start of a new year, I am drawing up my guidebook for the year; a little hint I got from an organization site on FB. To sketch out what you want to accomplish for this year. So...here goes.

First, new marriage :)  We are nearly three months in and still very happy.  I lost my job (as is usual in my lines of work) but we remain strong and committed. I toss out ideas and he likes them; but he is highly conventional and thinks sticking with established lines of work will pay the bills.
While I agree, I have my goals and dreams of having my art and creativity pay at least some of it.
Otherwise, we are a crazy happy couple taking care of our elderly cats and parents. :)

Second, my books!  In a few days Southern Comfort 5 will be released; the last in the series.
Also, the first volume of Upstaged is on its final round of edits!  Looks for that soon :)
A major plus...I came back to Gay Authors site with a book that was written last century (omg) but has been edited and even has a cover; but I wanted feedback first. WOW am I ever getting great comments! I hope the rest hold up and this puppy will go up for sale, hopefully to delight the many who are not on GA.

Lastly; my insights into the new year. As many know, I do not ever post politics or religion; and I won't start. I'll just put out there that things are a hot mess, but they have been for a very long time and it would take more than a mortal man to fix things. Humans are greatly unchanged at their base levels and I pine for the world of Star Trek, where things seem to be much better. (call it a fiction-lovers fantasy).

My goals for this year beyond the books are to: find a day job to pay the bills (in my state), knit (for profit and non alike)...release a coloring book for adults, and to begin to sketch again to my newest love, Voltron.

What are your goals and aspirations?

Good luck and Happy New Year!

SALE at Extasy!

Fill your bag with treats this Halloween!

Six Days...

OK so if you haven't heard the news...I am getting married (again) this coming Friday :)

My first marriage ended very amicably (and if you don't know the tale behind it, just ask) but it was unusual (at least to me).  We are good friends to this day, but wow I cannot wait to dump the name.

So...that brought up a great question; I've lived with that last name for 19 years....how do I take it out of use completely?

I thought over the usual spots:
drivers license, SS card, voter registration...

But what about the other ones?  Work login, nameplate, resume, etc.  How do you practically erase 19 years?

It's like John Cougar Mellancamp dropping "Cougar".  TBH I still call him that!

How do I stop the use of the old and get folks used to the new?

T-Minus 24 Days

Only 24 days to go!!! Wahooo!

To all my fellow brides-to-be do you do a countdown?  I did, since almost the day we set 'the' date! I kept it on the fridge and marked it down faithfully every single day.

Now? With only three weeks and change to go; we can almost relax.  This is a small affair, outdoors, no big receptions. The biggest worry was getting the flowers, which I just picked up last Saturday. :)

Next? To get the actual license, candy for goody bags, choose food, and be sure the mother of the groom has a nice outfit.

Oh...and to teach the groom to dance.  That'd be nice too. LOL

Anyone else with an October wedding? My last one was too...this time of year is hot!

What are your issues with last-minute items?

Happy weddings!

Coming Oct 13th! Southern Comfort: Truth and Consequences

Not telling the truth has its own consequences!
In the wake of the Halloween lock-in, a rift has opened among the friends, brought about by Mark’s inability to be honest with them, as well as himself. Todd reaches out to Blake and Clay, and a stronger friendship is forged. Mark misses his boyfriend, but even more so when a new student named Taylor arrives on the scene, and it appears that Taylor and Todd might be more than just friends.

Clay’s about to turn nineteen and his father is throwing a party—one he fully intends to wriggle out of, until Travis invites all his friends and he’s caught. An uninvited guest brings out a side of Clay nobody knew existed, one that threatens to shake the peace of New Liberty.

Southern Comfort; Aftermath now available!

When it comes to love, they will do what it takes to survive…
In the aftermath of the Homecoming Dance, a great rift has opened between Mark and Blake, one that began with the refusal of a dance. New alliances are strengthened and old ones reinforced. Mark makes his choice when he decides to move out of the Davis home, back to George’s house… and Todd. Clay does his best to give Blake what he needs, even if that should entail choosing Mark. Todd’s mother steps in to nurse George back to health, and that bond only deepens. Will Mark do what he just told Blake he couldn’t, and give Todd his ring? Will Clay show Blake that he’s the better man? And will new student Taylor Andrews throw a monkey wrench into Mark’s plans in ways he can’t even imagine?
New alliances will be forged and tested, and emotions will run rampant in ways no one has foreseen.
