Down to the wire!
Wow...Christmas is nearly here! Every day I ask my husband what day it is and I still cannot fathom that it's the 17th and there are only 8 days left!
Time has slowed considerably since I left my job on the 3rd. In fact, these past two weeks have felt longer than the four months preceding them. I'm sure it's because I'm no longer rushed trying to work, get home, attempt to relax, eat, then do homework, and maybe eek out some writing while I'm at it.
Now, the days drag on a bit. When I finally wake up (2-3 hours later than I used to) I eat at a much more leisurely pace, then check email, play games, and do all those little fill-in-the-space things we tend to let slide.
Now, with Christmas on our doorstep, I finally kicked things into gear. I wrapped what few presents I could afford two weeks ago, and finally get a tiny something for my precious nephews. I have very little to give this year; it has been an arduous one for sure.
Still, I feel blessed that I'm basically healthy, fit, and able to write and skate and do the things I love with the people I love.
So, to everyone out there, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Joyous New Year!

Coming Soon!....Bernard
After more than a year in the works...Bernard makes it debut by month's end!
Bernard is a tale that starts out somber. It's the tale of a 45-yr old bellhop who's so down on life he's attempted suicide! He'd denoted in his diary how much he hates his life and wants to end it!
He nearly dies this time; but thanks to Dr. Jack, he'll be just fine. The two strike up a deep friendship which converts to romance later on; but will all be well now in Bernard's world?
Job pressures, self-esteem issues, and Jack's long-hidden secret are pulling at the new duo.
Will it rip them apart forever or push them together into each other's arms?

Inching ever closer....
I have two books almost 'ready' to come out...all I need on one is the proofreading finished and the other just needs a cover. All I need for the cover is $$$....unless someone can inspire me to sit down and draw one!
As for real life, I spend almost every waking moment at a computer. 8 hours at work, then I come home and do either homework OR courses for a new certification I'm pursuing (that'll hopefully garner me a permanent job)! Oh yes, then there's writing and games (naturally) :)
Got some free promo yesterday, my books Lust in London was shown on Keta Diablo's site front page on yahoo groups and on her blogsite...the stuff of myth and men...Thank you, Keta!!! I look forward to a review being done on my latest work "Ranch Hands Reharvested"!
Until next time...Steph

What's new in my world...
Wow, whatta life. I'm in school, work full-time, in a scrawny and hideous apartment (want a house VERY badly,) and want to pursue a new career outside of the one I just got a degree for. fun, huh? then there's two insane cats and oh yes, the husband. he's a good guy, he can't work, so he stays home and does all that revolting domestic stuff I abhor...lol. though, i did cook tonight; not too bad. pasta is always easy :)
we have such huge dreams and it feels like everything is holding us back; no money, one car, and kinda "stuck" with everything. anyone else feeling this way? I'm sure in this recession, a lot of folks are...not just us. we're becoming the 'norm'...spooky in itself!

Rip-roaring review of For the Heart of Phillip!
Johanna Snodgrass
Jul 18, 2010
Johanna Snodgrass rated it: 4 of 5 stars
For the Heart of Phillip is the very emotional read of a confused boy growing into a quietly confident man. Our hero, Phillip, suffers from bi-polar disorder and the challenges of this mental disorder affect his whole life and everyone in it. Phillip's parents struggle to understand their son and his choices throughout his life. At a tender age, Phillip befriends Andy, a smallish younger boy with problems of being bullyed. Their friendship takes many twists and turns thru the years, one of which is a sexual relationship. Not being able to understand the feelings of such a relationship Andy turns away and Phillip finds comfort with Robert. Thus begins a long journey, for Phillip, of loving two men at the same time and the inevitable choice of one over the other.
Now, with that said, I did not go into this book expecting a medical textbook of mental disorders. SL Danielson's bold decision to have the main character of her book suffer from bi-polar disease was done with the expectation that the reader would understand that some of his irrational behvior could be attributed to said disorder. Phillip's parents understood that there was more wrong with their son than growing pains and did the proper thing by taking him to and having him treated by a physician familiar with the disorder. Phillip struggled with the highs and lows of the disease but maintained his medication regime as directed. This allowed Phillip to lead a more fulfilling life with more control of the highs and lows. Frankly, I was glad that Ms Danielson did not go into a diatribe of the symptoms and side effects of bi-polar disease and its medications. I understand that thousands of people are affected by this disease and it should in no way be taken lightly. Believe me as a sufferer of a mental disorder I understand. Therefore, I delve into fiction to "escape" not to be reminded over and over of what I endure everyday. After all, this is a work of fiction and not a medical guide.
I was fortunate enough to read this story as it was unfolding. Ms Danielson is a delightful person and willingly shared her story with me. I watched this book grow from For the Heart of Phillip to the full-story you now can read. Please take a chance with this book and I think you will be glad you did. I warn you it is an emotional journey and you will run the gamut of feelings from happiness to anger to sadness to joy. With that said, please enjoy.

Coming April 2nd!
The tale of Sid the farmer, who's been wronged in every way.
His own father racked up an exorbitant gambling debt and put the farm in jeopardy, then died before he could work it off.
Then single Sid, left to work 200 acres alone hired a boarder who stole far more from him than just his heart. He took off and hasn't been seen since!
Now...the situation is dire. Sid must either pay the mortgage, or go into a new line of work. He needs help.
Enter Roger. A young, strong man who is willing to work for no pay and help the struggling farmer survive.
Sid begrudingly accepts and swallows his pride, but they aren't exactly a match made in heaven; in fact, Roger is hiding his own secrets.
When the crops are in, will Roger stay on or will Sid's pride take a backseat again? What will have been harvested from the seeds he'd sown?
Available soon in e-book and paperback.
